Michael + Taylor

Proposal & Engagement Photography

Chicago Skyline // Adler Planetarium // Chicago, IL

On a FRIGID below-freezing December evening I met up with Michael and Taylor’s families outside the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. Just a few days before Christmas, we gathered to set up the proposal spot before Michael and Taylor arrived. I assisted their family in picking the spot and even brought some string lights to add to the setup. I got my tripod ready to record a video, and hid nearby with my camera waiting.

Waiting, and freezing.

Mostly freezing.

BUT eventually they arrived and Taylor was SO surprised and overjoyed at the proposal that all the pain was worth it. :) Michael got a liiittle too excited and wound up proposing before he actually got to the designated spot so I didn’t actually get any video of the proposal, but we took plenty of photos of them and their families before we all hurried back to our cars and warmth.

Michael even thought to buy a nice set of press-on nails (from @brittreedstudios) and Taylor put them on for the last few pictures.

We can’t wait to photograph their wedding in summer 2025! We’re just hoping for a less extreme temperature. 😅

Engagement Photos

One World at Woolery Mill // Bloomington, IN

Since we didn’t quite get enough of the cold during the proposal, we decided to meet up for an engagement shoot in the middle of a January snowstorm! We were able to get some incredible photos at One World at Woolery Mill, one of my favorite wedding venues here in Bloomington. We also may have learned that Michael does not own snow boots. 😂 But he was a trooper and we worked quickly. ;)

We’d love to capture your engagement and wedding! We believe every couple deserves high quality images and videos documenting the most important days of their lives. We can’t wait to meet you and hear your story!
