Hi, I’m Jo, a storyteller with a love for Jesus, my wife, and my cats.

(Pls ask me for cat pics I will send you a thousand.)

  • My earliest memories with a camera are playing with my aunt’s camcorder when I was a kid. My sister and I would write skits and film them, I would use it to capture family events, and I thought it was one of the coolest things ever.

Growing up anytime I went on a trip I would always get a disposable camera and snap photos relentlessly. Occasionally I even got one without my finger covering half the lens! I never consciously thought about my love of photography or movie-making, it was just natural to me.

In high school my friends and I started going overboard on class projects (and usually missing half the requirements in the process). Once, we made this "great" music video about Mead Five Star Notebooks. I remember watching my friend edit the video in iMovie and was blown away by the magic he was creating.

A couple years later we once again traded the 'five-slide powerpoint assignment' for an ELEVEN minute (sorry Mr. Heck) video "recounting" the Battle of Chancellorsville (there’s about 10s of historical information in there 😂) .. only this time, I was the one behind the wheel. I filmed it on a cheap little camcorder, downloaded a free editing software, and stayed up all night working. That night my love for editing was born.

Soon I was off to Indiana University to study film production; beginning my personal YouTube channel and my freelance journey shortly after.

Over the past ten years I’ve made hundreds of YouTube videos, filmed dozens of weddings, and created content for churches, international businesses, local non-profits, and more. Through all of this my very favorite thing has been getting to film weddings and tell love stories.

  • I’ve always been a bit of a hopeless romantic. I met my wife Lindsay on October 18th, 2014, and I asked her out a month later. She said no. Five years later.. she said yes. One more year and we were married.

There’s a lot more to my story: ups, downs, and heartache. But then you reach the happy ending. That heart-warming, tearful “I Do”. That quiet moment, an eternal commitment.

Witnessing two people start their lives together, surrounded by the people that love them most, on a day they will never forget.

Months of planning, preparation, working out every last detail with nervous excitement, and seeing it all come together in one spectacular celebration.

Grooms rendered speechless when they first see their bride in her dress.

Father's tearfully walking their daughters down the aisle.

All your friends and family gathered together for a once-in-a-lifetime dance party.

    That’s why I love weddings.

  • You will not find a photographer or videographer who cares more about your wedding being a success than me. This is your wedding day.. the biggest, most anticipated, most expensive day of your life. And I will literally do whatever you need me to to make it a success. To make it everything you've been dreaming about.

You last minute decided to have a bubble send-off? I'll same-day ship some bubble guns to my in-laws house since they live near the venue and I'll grab them on my way to the wedding.

Your DJ doesn't have room to setup his equipment for the ceremony? I'll panic make a playlist on my iPhone and play all your entrance/exit songs off it.

The DJ's bluetooth speaker sucks and keeps disconnecting? In one of the 82 duffel bags I brought I have the exact cable we need to plug my phone in directly.

The DJ doesn't speak English? I'll be your impromptu emcee.

Did the venue coordinator forget to turn on the string lights on the outside patio? I'll notice and let him know.

Whatever you need, I'll be there for you. I'll capture some top of the line photos, I'll put together a breath-taking, tear-inducing film, and I will do everything I possibly can to make this day everything you dreamed it would be.

I'm here for you. Now let's go get you married. <3

(and yes, all of those weirdly specific things just happened to me at a wedding 2 weeks ago haha)

My wife Lindsay and a few other local creatives assist me in shooting your wedding day. Everyone that works on my team are carefully selected to maintain my high standard of work. I will always be your lead videographer and film editor.
